Extreme Long Shot- ELS: This is sometimes refered to the as the establising shot, it is used to emphasises the background and environment, usualy against a character. 

Long Shot- LS: A shot that shows the entirety of the person,but still shows the environment around them. Can be used as an establishing shot.

Medium Long Shot- MLS: This Shot gives us a more detailed view of the character while still retaining a large portion of the background, shows the whole body.

Medium Shot- MS: This shot usualy shows a person from the waist up, gives us a more detailed view of the character, is similar to MLS

Medium Close Up- MCU: This shot is from the mid-chest to the top of the head, it's inbetween a close up and midshot. It can sometimes contain 2 people talking.

Close Up- CU: This shot usualy shows the head and shoulders and gives us a very detailed look at the person, often used to show emotion or reactions.

Extreme Close Up- ECU: This shot shows a very close view of a face or object, can be used to show extreme anger or emotion.

Point of View- POV: This shows what the character is looking at from a first person perspective, giving the audiance and idea what the person is looking at.
