Pre-Production Changes (Updated Story)

Over the course of our filming and due to time constraints I felt it neccessary to compact the opening, specifically to remove the wordy speach between the two male characters and to make it much more subsinct and hopefully as a result have more of an impact. To this end we slightly modified the overall plot to have the mafia fellow approaching the house to be an old friend of the cop. Recently released from prison he has been given a choice, in order to escape the mafia he must kill his old friend or he would be stuck working for them. With no other choice he set out to kill his old friend, but something he didn't take into account was his girl finding him. After killing his friend and burning the evidence he is left facing something even he couldn't overcome, a broken girl lost in the darkness of the city. He killed his friend for his own selfishesness but he didn't have the heart to leave this girl at the mercy of the mafia and so he protects her. Leaving a loose end alive is not what the mafia wanted and so on the run they bond with one another. She finds that he isn't the cold blooded killer she thought he was.

These changes allowed us to create an enigma with our opening, setting up the murder and the burning of the house, while not truly showing what interation occurs between the girl and the murderer. This opens up the story to be told later in the 3rd person.
